New Year Parties - What Shall I Wear?

New Year's Eve parties are rapidly approaching. Don't know what to wear? Well, you can always count on the LBD to get you through. This year, I decided to keep it simple. A little black dress and some fun accessories will not only fit the bill. You won't have to worry about buying a dress that you can only wear one time. Here's what I chose to wear.  Ladies. Keep it simple and there are tons of pieces you can add to dress up a simple dress. The main thing is that you want to feel beautiful but you want to be comfortable as well.

Whatever you decide, have fun and be safe.

Happy 2014!

Fab Friday - Radiant Orchid

I just posted a blog introducing 2014's color of the year. Radiant Orchid is the color. It's a cross between pink, fuschia and purple. You'll see this color hot and heavy on the runways and your favorite stores.

Here are just a few items I pulled together for my board. This color offers different shades which means there's a shade for every skin tone.

Stay stylish. Have a great weekend!

2014 Color Trend - Radiant Orchid

Yes! Pantone has announced the trending color for 2014.  Radiant Orchid!

A harmony of fuschia, purple and pink undertones is how this color is created. Pantone's Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman says, "Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination." Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality.

Turn Up The Heat

Winter hasn't officially arrived but boy have we had some cold days. Living in a less than toasty space? Perhaps, you want to knock off the chill in style.  Well, heating devices have come a long way. Whether, you live in a city apartment or a single family home, there are so many options out there.

There's a style out there for whatever style home you live in. Most, of the heating devices chosen either plug into a wall, stand alone or can be wall mounted.

Always, excercise caution when using any type of heating device. Safety comes first.

Stay warm,

Fab Friday - Working in Style

As, I travel the city looking for the perfect lighting or fabric for my next project, I realize sourcing the city takes a certain amount of preparation. Moving from the suburbs where you throw all of your findings into the trunk of the car are long gone (for now).  Moving back to the city where it's commonplace to hailing a cab or taking the subway, you have to have on the on the right gear! We, have already had a taste of what the winter is going to bring. Therefore, you have to dress warm. But, there's no reason not to do it in style. I decided to make a few new purchases to prepare me for the city cold and I think these are great "go-to" pieces that never seems to go out of style.

I absolutely, love the jacket because it flares out at the hip, giving extra room for winter sweaters. Military jackets have been around forever and I found this one at JC Penney in 4 different colors. The shoes are by Aerosole. They, give you a little lift but they're made for people who are on their feet most of the time. The, "Ushanka or Trapper" hat is so warm. No matter how cold it gets, this hat is not only stylish but, it protect your ears and you can pin the hat up or leave the earflaps down. The mittens keep your fingers nice and toasty and YES, you can purchase these items in real fur or faux. That's totally up to you. The leggings by NYDJ are stylish but allows flexibility.  Throw on a nice flowy top and jewelry to finish it off and you're ready to take on the elements. Just because you're running around the city doesn't mean you can't do it in style. You never know if you're going to run into your next client, business partner or significant other (wink, wink).

Well, that's it for Fab Friday. I hope you enjoy my blogs and hopefully, you get some great ideas from my picks.

As always, have a safe and wonderful weekend!

These are just a few of many ideas. Whether, you're having a small or large gathering the centerpiece sets the tone. You can work the rest of the table setting around it. You, don't have to be the most creative person. Check out the internet. There are dozens of ideas for centerpieces and table settings. Find one you like and make a few tweeks to call it your own. All you need is a little imagination and a few close friends and family. It doesn't get any better than this.

We, at Couture Interiors would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. May you have a safe, blessed and joyous holiday.
